“Wer ko, der ko!” – A Piece of Munich History in Traditional German Stoneware This exceptional 2015 Festival Stein of the Munich Oktoberfest beer tent owners and operators celebrates one of Munich’s most legendary characters: Franz Xaver Krenkl, a successful horse trader, coachman and multiple winner of the traditional Oktoberfest horse races. Krenkl became famous for the bold Bavarian expression, “Majestät, wer ko, der ko!” – approximately translated as, “Your Majesty, those who can, can!” According to the popular story, he called out these words after overtaking the carriage of the future Bavarian King Ludwig I. The phrase became a lasting symbol of Bavarian confidence, humor and fearless independence. The richly detailed wraparound decoration brings Krenkl’s story to life. It features the proud racing champion, spirited horses, historic carriages and numerous affectionate references to Munich’s Oktoberfest and its famous festival tents. The craftsmanship behind the stein is equally special. It was traditionally made from durable stoneware in Germany’s Westerwald region and fired using the historic salt-glazing process. After firing, the stein received its colorful and highly detailed decoration. The characteristic gray surface, subtle variations in the glaze and authentic ceramic texture give every piece its own individual character. Produced as part of a limited and individually numbered edition, this stein combines the spirit of the Munich Oktoberfest with genuine German ceramic craftsmanship. Today, it is a distinctive collectible for enthusiasts of Oktoberfest history, Bavarian culture and traditional German beer steins. Only four examples are available. Once these four steins have been sold, we will not be able to offer any additional pieces from this edition. History to the lid motif "BEddy Feldl": Betty Feldl- The Grande Dame of the Devil's Wheel Betty Feldl (1908 - 2002) was a legendary figure at Munich's Oktoberfest. Together with her husband Rudolph, she operated the historic Teufelsrad, or "Devil's Wheel," one of the festival's oldest and most beloved attactions. After his death in 1970, she continued to run the business on her own for more than three decades. At a time when many traditional attractions were modernized or dissapeared entirely, Betty Friedl preserved the Devil's Wheel in its original form. Its spinning wooden platform and the witty Bavarian commentary of the announcer made it a unique part of Oktoberfest culture. Thanks in great part to her dedicatioin, the original Deil's Wheel can still be enjoyed today. The pewter lid of the official 2026 Oktoberfest collector beer stein honors this remarkable showwoman and devoted guardian of an authentic Oktoberfest tradition. Genuine, original, official vintage stein / annual stein / Wiesnkrug / collector's stein with pewter lid from the year 2021 from the Oktoberfest Munich No item is as emblematic of the Munich folk Festival as the beer stein - as 1 Liter "Masskrug" with and without pewter lid. Despite the 2021 Volksfest was cancelled because of Corona again, nevertheless some Oktoberfest steins were produced. The official Maßkrüge of the city of Munich were also issued in 2021 as a small edition. Due to the special situation, however, the edition size was very small as in the previous year again. Overall Design: The "Wiesnkrug 2021" comes as a stone stein made of fine German clay, holding 1.0 liter. The stein’s shape is also traditional. The typical Bavarian roller shape is called "Keferloher". Decór As every year, the official Oktoberfest poster is used as the mug decor. Decorated opposite the handle, it is burned in an extra step (and thus made durable). Poster motif: On the 2021 poster, the Wiesnherz is the focal point. It is framed by hop vines, two steins and a pretzel, as well as a curved banner with the words "Oktoberfest Munich". Pewter lid The high-quality pewter lid is has a custom embossed pewter lid. Just like the mug decoration, the motifs change annually. This year, "Michael Schottenhamel" can be found on the pewter lid. Born in the Upper Palatinate, he started out as early as 1867 with a plank stand at the Wiesn. Patronae Bavariae Stein 2 Liter, 17 3/4", hand-painted
Patronae Bavaria Stein With this name, the Holy Virgin Mary is venerated as the patron saint of Bavaria. St. Mary has been revered since the earliest times. Since 1916, Mary has been formally designated as the patroness of Bavaria by Pope Benedict XV. Mary, "Queen of Bavaria" is depicted on this stein as Madonna with Baby Jesus in Deep relief with intricate hand-paintíng. The crown and parts of the relief ornaments were painted with gold and fired at approx. 560°C. The whole is rounded off with the pious request "Protect us and our country". The Madonna motif fits ideally on the tall, slender shape of the stein. Content: 2 Liters Height: 17 3/4"
