Gambrinus, 0.75 ltr., painted, crown lid, Thewalt 1893
Gambrinus in kingly garb sits casually next to a beer keg as he regards a foaming chalice, while holding s a scepter in the other hand. A hops & leafs relief band runs around the top of the stein while a deep relief lion and beer much encircles the bottom of the stein. A very detailed and spectacular figural crown lid, made of genuine pewter, rounds up the royal appearance of this stein. To the left and right are poems, relating to the story of Gambrinus: Gambrinus werde ich genannt, König von Flandern und Brabant. Ich habe aus Gerste Malz gemacht und zuerst das Bier erdacht Drum können die Brauer mit Stolz bekunden, dass ein König es war, der das Bier erfunden They name me Gambrinus, the King of Flemish and Brabant. I did make malt out of barley and (I was) the first one who thought up the beer. Therefore, the brewers can proclaim with pride that it was a king who invented the beer. HB traditionally salt-glazed beer-stein , 1 liter
Our smallest member of the "Keferloh" stein Family. At least from the 13th century beer was served in ceramic steins in Restaurants or inns. The shape is simple and straight. The first large beer hall at the Oktoberfest was equipped in 1896 by the Schottenhamel family with 400 beer steins without lids and 50 beer steins with tin lids. At the end of the 19th century, breweries discovered the possibility of using the steins as an advertising medium. The brewery logo was stamped into the mug and covered with cobalt blue. As they were hundreds of years ago, these steins are still made by hand in the traditional way. Today, as in the past, the lid made of genuine pewter protects the cool drink from dust or insects. Tip: Cool the mug in the refrigerator before use This way the mug will keep the beer cool and fresh much longer. Content: 1 Liter
Loreley Stein 0.5 Ltr., stone-grey, Thewalt 1893
The Loreley is an approx. 450 feet tall steep slate rock on the right river bank of the Rhine River at Sankt Goarshausen and it is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The name comes from the old Rhine dialect word "lureln" (murmuring) and the Celtic word "ley" (rock). The heavy currents of the Rhine as well as a small waterfall created a murming sound. This sound, combined with the echo produced by the rock gave this place its name. The Rhine's strong current, combined with the dangerous rocks hidden under the river's surface caused lots of boat accidents. About 200 years ago,Heinrich Heine composed a poem based on the tale about the Loreley. It describes the most beautiful young lady, sitting on the cliff above the Rhine, combing her beautiful golden hair, distracting the shipmen with her beauty and her singing, causing them to crash on the rocks. This stein shows in deep relief the beauty sitting on the rock looking down the Rhine to the left. To her right, the beginning of the Heine poem has been carved into the stein. Roughly translated, the poem goes: I don't know what it means That I am so sad A legend of bygone days That I cannot keep out of my mind. The air is cool and night is coming. The calm Rhine courses its way. The peak of the mountain dazzles With evening's final ray. The fairest of maidens is sitting Up there, a beautiful delight, Her golden jewels are shining, She's combing her golden hair. She holds a golden comb, Singing along, as well An enthralling And spellbinding melody. In his little boat, the boatman Is seized by it with a savage woe. He does not look upon the rocky ledge But rather high up into the heavens. I think that the waves will devour The boatman and boat in the end And this by her song's sheer power Fair Loreley has done. Handcrafted in the old German grey-blue style, this 3/4 liter stein stands 10 1/2 inches tall and is a limited edition of just 2,500 pieces worldwide. Each stein is individually numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

250th Anniversary Stein of the United States of America, multi-colored glaze "wash" decoration, figural Eagle Pewter Lid
250th Anniversary Stein of the United States of America Be it known that this commemorative stein has been faithfully handcrafted and issued in honor of the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America (1776 – 2026). Created by KING Werk, the renowned German manufacturer of fine stoneware since 1949, this vessel pays tribute to two and a half centuries of freedom, courage, and progress – virtues that shaped a nation and inspired the world. The Founding of a Nation (1776) At the heart of the stein stands the solemn moment of America’s birth — the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Beneath the proud gaze of a bald eagle, emblem of strength and liberty, the Founders commit their resolve to freedom. Golden stars and classical ornamentation frame the scene, symbolizing endurance, unity, and the everlasting spirit of democracy. Technological Progress and Exploration The left panel honors the pioneering achievements of American science and innovation. From the moon landing (1969) to the digital frontier, it also commemorates the United States’ vital role in the fall of the Berlin Wall, the end of the Cold War, and the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The relief recalls President Ronald Reagan’s immortal call: “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” — a defining echo of hope and liberty across the world. It symbolizes the pioneering spirit that drives the nation from the dawn of space exploration to the digital age. Pioneers and Industrial Growth The right panel portrays the spirit of invention and enterprise that built a nation. Here appear the Wright brothers, symbols of flight and daring; and the great inventors Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla, whose genius illuminated the modern world and gave rise to the electric age. Another relief shows the first mass-produced Ford automobile, representing industrial progress and the democratization of prosperity — making once-luxurious goods affordable and accessible to the people. Through these scenes, the stein honors those whose ingenuity and perseverance forged the American century. 250th Anniversary Stein of the United States of America, multi-colored hand-painted, Figural Eagle Pewter Lid
